First time at the pizza parlor and my kids were completely in love with the parmesan cheese shaker at the table. After covering nearly ever square inch of their pizzas ten feet tall, Boston explained,
“Mom, I’m not going to eat the cheese in this shaker. I’m just going to lick it all off the thingy on top!”
I didn’t have time to utter a word about her great idea before watching her promptly place her tongue over the entire lid.
Pierce didn’t say anything. He simply sat, dipping his parmesan loaded pizza into his water glass, and finishing it all off as some sort of mozzarella smoothie.
We finally stood up at the end to reveal a complete disaster of a table, with sauce and cheese and soggy water soaked pizza crust.
But as they stood up, they noticed not the mess. They gave not a thought to their complete lack of table manners. They stood happy, content, filled with life and laughter and memories.
And as I tried to put some sort of order back to the table, I smiled. Because this dirty, pizza sauce life is better than anything I could have ever imagined.
Go enjoy your little messes today, momma!
Just try to keep them from licking those containers. 🙂

I laughed so hard reading this post. Love Pierce’s smoothie! I have soooo been there so many times. Your babies are so blessed to have a mama who truly enjoys them. 🙂
So lovely! And so very familiar too!:)
