My little snacker was about to use the bathroom when she noticed a Cheerios which had somehow found its way into her underwear. Before I had time to react she popped it in her mouth.
“A Cheerios in my underwear Mom!”
“I ate it.”Β
And to think I used to wash her pacifiers which fell on the floor. . .
Her mouth has been found with someone’s used gum, sand, bath water, and even her own boogers (this one makes me shudder). Just today I heard her squealing with laughter to discover her wetting and sucking on an old sponge.
When it comes to eating something a little nutritious, however, like broccoli hidden under piles of cheese, her mouth is suddenly glued shut.
How can a child who immediately puts anything chocked full of germs into her mouth be such a picky little eater when it comes to real food?Β
Alas, I think I may start throwing celery and carrot sticks on the ground when we are out. At least then I know she will be unable to refuse the tempting bite!
Oh this made me laugh out loud!

I love to hear this!! At least her awful eating habits can bring a smile someone’s way! π

Yes I literally LOL’d! What a great image! There should be a meme of a mom throwing celery on the floor!!!

π This made me laugh! And brought back memories. Gosh, the things they would put in their mouths… I was lucky, though – mine were good food eaters too. π

Oh, I am so glad to bring some fun memories your way! Yes, you were lucky! I am sure it is just a stage but the girl barely eats any “food” at all. Sometimes I wonder how she survives on so little! My son on the other hand eats like a horse–probably the reason he weighs as much as his “big” sister. π

This is so funny! It’s so true that we are so careful when they are babies and then as soon as they are able, they’re putting everything in their mouths. Wolfy thinks it’s funny to kiss weird things, like walls and random dogs. I don’t understand it.

Haha, that is hilarious!! At least he is a little lover! π Yes, I was so very sanitary in the beginning. I now try to convince myself it is building up a good immune system!

Aw, thanks, she is a keeper–dirty mouth and all! π The one real food she will never refuse is pink frosted cupcakes. She even told me she dreams about them!

So true… for some reason, throwing it onto the floor makes food more tasty for our two-year old. Who knew?

Yes, it is like it takes on some extra special flavor. I guess hair and dirt seem to be a great toddler seasoning!! π

Haha, I hope you do!! Perhaps if we mop the floor first it wouldn’t be so bad. It could not be any worse than what they are doing anyways, right? We will have to report back our results soon! π π

Yes, it seems hopeless in preventing! At least we know they would do fine if needing to survive in the wild. Bugs and such would have no problem making their way down! π

Holly, my daughter is getting close to three. Not three months, three YEARS!! I thought they grew out of it by now! Here’s to hoping for better luck your way! If not, remember the old carrots on the floor trick. π π

Apparently not. I had hoped by then too. Still plenty more gross eating experiences ahead of me then… π my daughter ate a blob of her cereal she dropped off the tiles today.

Ha! I agree…I should just mindlessly throw vegetables on the floor. My kid will put anything off the floor in his mouth without a second thought! I saw him do it not just half an hour ago.

My son is always picking up things from the floor and bringing them to me. Usually a tiny leaf, dirt, or who knows. Yesterday. Yesterday it was booger. And not a dried one either. I can see him eating out of his undies in the future!

Oh, yuck!! Boogers are the all time worst for me, literally makes me feel like I may vomit when my daughter tells me she ate one! Yes, little man will be picking the cheerios out his undies before you know it! π

I always found this funny too. My daughter is an insanely picky eater. She pull chicken apart and throw it in her juice and drink it. I have watched her eat Frosted Flakes dipped in ranch dressing, but give her a normal meal a it is gross. Cheerios are a favorite though too.

Haha, just this evening my daughter was dipping chicken into my iced tea and eating it all up! Frosted Flakes and ranch, I am sure she would devour this as well, but let us give them a nice Cobb salad to go with the ranch and watch their mouths suddenly unable to open! π

This so reminds me of my daughter. She used to dump her snacks on the floor in the living room. That was the only way she would eat them π
