Yesterday, we were in the waiting room at the doctor’s office when the nurse popped in calling for a “Lauren.” Boston turned to me, “Oh, it is Lauren’s turn. When they say ‘Momma’ then it will be our turn!”
Oh of course, we all know I am the universal momma indeed. 🙂
I was first humored, but then in awe. To my toddlers, I really am ‘The Momma,’ their deepest love and passion is for me. Kind of puts things quickly into perspective.
I am his world, her best friend, what more do I need from life?

That’s so adorable! My daughter is only 10 months for now o doesn’t say much but the way she smiles at me when I come into the room is enough to make my heart melt 🙂

That is so incredible sweet, it validates just how important we are to our little ones.
When I look a little stress my 2 year old will rub my head and say “Don’t worry mommy its okay I love you”. Its all I need to instantly feel better about any situation.

This is so sweet! These mommy moments are so tender and seem to leave an imprint on our hearts.
Recently if my son Parker is away from me for a while, when he sees me again he will start to stroke my hair and kiss me over and over again. It makes me feel so loved and needed. They know just how to tug at our heart strings, don’t they? 🙂

My son and I have a question a day book for kids. Yesterday’s question was “Who loves you a lot?” He didn’t pause a bit before saying, “My parents, of course!” – it felt so good to know that he felt the love.

Gave my daughter a kiss when I went to bed and in her sleep she said “I love you momma…” And while I had a tiny meltdown because I lost an entire post I’ve wrote my son came over, gave me a big hug and kiss and said “It’s all going to be fine, mom. Don’t worry. I am here.” 🙂

Thank you for this, Sasha! Actually, yes! My daughter just said something to me yesterday of which I wrote about this morning. Children are so honest and so profound sometimes … because they speak straight from the heart! It is a privilege of grace to have these little lives to care for … and to be called “momma.” 🙂

My Aspie son (7) is a family guy. He love his family. One recent Saturday morning both he and our girl (4) came into our bed and my son said with full joy, “I love my family”. Talk about making a momma’s heart melt.

This is so sweet! I just love it when my little guy only wants his momma when it’s time for sleep. Sure, grandma’s arms are comfy and daddy’s voice is soothing, but only momma will do! Makes me feel special 🙂

My husband and I loved the stage when our daughter thought we would “disappear” if we all of a sudden were hidden from her view. It puts into perspective how you really are their entire world, how dependent they are on you. I think as parents we often get so caught up in the monotony of changing diapers, washing clothes, washing bottles, and bath times or bed times, that we don’t appreciate how important each one of those “chores” are actually little bonding moments with our babies. Their smiles and giggles really are the best part of any day.

When I was putting my daughter to sleep, she whispered to me, “Zutto aitakattayo”–which, roughly translated means something like “I wanted to meet you for so long.”
It’s strange, I always felt like I was waiting my whole life to meet my little girl and she suddenly says that she had wanted to meet me for so long, too 🙂

I was upset and crying one day and my 2yr old son started crying with me. I guessed that he saw me upset so he must be upset too. Good thing is that it made me stop crying as I didn’t want to see him cry.

I once had to leave my daughter with a babysitter for an evening, and things did not go well for the two of us just before I left. She was horribly angry with me as I shut the door and and headed out. When I returned, I’d found a note on my pillow. It said, “Dear Mom, I hate you. Love Chloe.”
When I asked her about it the next day, I said, “Well, sweets, you couldn’t have been too terribly angry with me. You signed it ‘love, Chloe.’
Her reply? “I didn’t know how to spell FROM.”
Priceless. And I still have the letter.

My little one is gonna complete three months next week. Sometimes he makes this sound “mma”. Even though i know its too early for him to say words, i take it as he calling me Amma.. ( Mom) i jump with joy everytime he smiles and this mma is the cherry on the cake.
