I Write Because I Breathe

IMG_1936

Writing is my passion, my escape, the place I go to release my soul, my cries, my longings and prayers.

Writing is beautiful.

Writing is vulnerable.

Writing to an actual audience. . .

                                      simply down right scary.

There you are, opening your soul for anyone to come by and crush, to scrutinize and judge.

“Here is my heart for all to see!” I scream with each new post.

Then, why do I write?

I write because I breathe–one does not seem to be complete without the other.

I find a quiet moment alone in the evening after both kids are asleep. I sit with my laptop and a cup of tea. I let out a deep breathe or two. . . or five.

I type.

My heart begins to bleed its desires, its passions, loves, fears, worries. . .

I write to express my heart, my soul, my deep love and fervor for my babies and for all those issues which concern them.

I write as a form of prayer to my expressive God–He is the One who powers my fingers forward. He is the backdrop of my style.

I am not so unique in the blogger world.

I am another mommy talking about her children.

Then, why do I choose to write here?

I write because I breathe.

This post was part of the ever so popular and fun blog hop going on right now titled “Why Do I Write.”

I was contacted by three individuals to be a part of this and was deeply honored to be chosen by each one of these ladies!

                                                                      simplifycreateinspire.com

To continue in style with the blog hop, I want to shine light on my all time favorite blogger. Her writing is beyond beautiful–pure magic proceeds from her pen.

Rebekah at barrentobeautiful.wordpress.com is someone you NEED to check out. Her posts are challenging, motivating, and forever beautiful–she is ALWAYS worth your time in reading.

    1. Keri, your words really touched me so deeply. It is a scary, vulnerable thing–writing. Then, when someone like you comes along and speaks such reassurance, it is the push which keeps me going.

Yours too breaths deep beauty and passion–never stop!!

  4. Love this. And you ARE an excellent writer! I was very intimidated to start a blog because of how vulnerable you become. But it is so wonderful to be able to express everything and hear others who feel the same way! Yours is one I always love to read because your thoughts seem so in line with the way I feel. Thanks for sharing your heart and soul with us!

  6. As usual, your God given gift has inspired and encouraged me once again. Sitting on the back porch with my coffee writing…I have often wondered why…then I remember….when the Father puts something on your heart, you cannot help it, you must share…just as you, yes, breathe.

  7. This was a great post…as I often question why I am writing…so it’s not like we write to be different or change! we just write because it’s who we are…

    1. Thank you for sharing this! It really is such a great way to express your heart. Sometimes in simply trying to communicate by speaking I feel I come up short, inadequate. It is when I allow myself to begin to write I am able to find the things I needed to speak.

  9. This is beautiful and so true to the way I feel about my own passion for writing. As mothers, we rarely get that “me time” we so crave, but writing can be that for those like you and I who live and breathe it. Thank you for writing… The mamasphere is better for your beautiful contributions!
